A proposed bill called the “FAIR Labels Act” could make it harder for people to choose vegan foods over meat, dairy, and eggs. The bill would restrict easy-to-understand descriptions like “plant-based chicken” on packaging, discouraging people from buying vegan foods they already know and enjoy.

Consumers understand clear terms like “veggie burger” and “plant-based steak” and know how to use them in meals. Renaming these foods would only benefit industries that profit when animals are killed. Every time someone chooses plant-based foods, an animal is spared from suffering. Making vegan choices harder to find and understand means more animals endure a life of misery and a terrifying death at the slaughterhouse. Your voice can protect animals who feel pain, fear, and joy and want to live. Please ask your U.S. representative and senators to reject the FAIR Labels Act at any point in the legislative process.
