Dear, |
Sixteen years ago, Cornelius was born in a barren laboratory at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center. Experimenters there took everything from him—his family, his freedom, and his will to live. Torn from his mother as an infant, he was kept in isolation, infected with dengue fever, and subjected to one invasive test after another. Eventually, he sat hunched over motionless in a steel cage, his eyes glazed and hollow. |

Cornelius is one of thousands of victims of the seven national primate research centers—federally funded facilities that are rife with abuse and neglect. |

Thanks to our dedicated supporters, PETA helped shut down the notorious New England Primate Research Center over a decade ago. Recently, following years of our relentless pressure, Oregon Health & Science University announced that it would begin negotiations to end experiments on monkeys and transition the Oregon National Primate Research Center into a sanctuary for the more than 5,000 monkeys it holds—a major milestone for monkeys and ethical science. We need your help to keep this pressure on until all primate laboratories are closed—and until no animal is treated as an expendable test subject. |
Thank you for all that you do to help animals. |
