Concerned citizen and volunteer duck savior Gabrielle Darling climbed down an embankment to use stone blocks and wood to divert the raging waters of the Salisbury Pond spillway around the water fowl escape ladder that proved too daunting for a mallard duck.  Successful at her endeavor, Darling says that since June 24, 14 goslings ,1 duck, and 4 adult Canada geese have been trapped down at the base of the spillway. The fates of which she was unaware. She says the ladder is often too steep and
 there needs to be permanent esacpe and that not all the ducks actually know how to fly.
