Dear, Raheem was terrified and in excruciating pain when a group of children cut off the tops of his ears, poured gasoline on him—and lit the gentle donkey on fire. Buzz was found with a large burn across his shoulder. He had been electroshocked repeatedly, leaving him with injuries so severe he couldn't even stand. Harcob, a frail baby, was found near death from starvation after his mother died while he was still nursing. His tiny body was dangerously anemic and too weak to move. These aren't isolated incidents of abuse. Donkeys are routinely beaten, whipped, and maimed as they are forced to carry tourists in scorching desert heat. Without the lifesaving emergency care provided by PETA-supported teams, many would suffer agonizing deaths. |

Your care package can make an immediate difference, Cid Marcos. These packages include vaccinations, supplements, food, water, and even veterinary treatment for sick, burned, and bleeding donkeys. Last year alone, the PETA-supported veterinary clinic in Petra provided free, often lifesaving care to 8,761 animals. The only way that work is possible is with care packages from kind individuals like you. |
