PETA has revealed the atrocities of the global animal skins trade, exposing how the fur ripped from abused dogs, cats, and other animals in China—the world’s largest fur exporter—is sold to consumers in the United States and beyond:  Dogs and cats—many abducted from the streets—cower in filthy cages, forced to watch as workers kill and skin other terrified animals.   Even puppies and kittens aren’t spared. Investigators found one coat made from the fur of 42 puppies.   Some animals’ hearts are still beating up to five to 10 minutes after workers have skinned them, their breath coming in ragged gasps.
