“They’ve been separated from their mums and they’re calling for them.… They’re going, ‘Mom! Mom!’”– A worker in the wool industry |
They’re just babies. Thrashing helplessly in a restraining device, a gentle lamb screams as a worker burns off her tail. The smell of scorched flesh fills the air as a hot knife cuts through her skin, soft tissue, and spinal cord. The worker's gloves are already drenched in blood by the time he starts hacking away large swaths of skin and flesh from her backside. Hearing her screams, the lamb’s panicked mother cries back, watching in anguish as the worker dumps her flailing lamb hard onto the ground. |
Please help baby animals abused for their skin by making a special gift of $2 or more that will be tripled through PETA’s “Save Our Skin” Matching-Gift Challenge. Your contribution before June 30 will push us closer to our $250,000 goal. This is the biggest match of 2026 to save animals from being tortured for their skin! |
For these babies, their skin is how their moms recognize them—to cuddle them close, to keep them warm. In the global skins industry, these babies are just another commodity. Lambs aren’t the only babies suffering. A PETA video exposé revealed workers at cattle ranches dragging baby calves away from their mothers, twisting their necks to force them to the ground. The calves’ faces are branded with hot irons without any pain relief. At just three years old, these cows are then sent for slaughter and their skin is sold as leather to the world’s largest car companies. Cid Marcos, you can protect a baby calf. |

Breeders forcibly breed mink kittens and confine them to unbearably small, filthy cages for their short, terrifying lives. Workers slaughter mink at just six months old for their fur. A PETA exposé documented a fur farmer grabbing the mink by their sensitive tails and cramming them into a crude wooden “kill box” to be gassed with carbon monoxide. One mink didn’t die immediately, so the farmer tried to break the mink’s neck by slamming the animal against the side of the gas chamber. Save a mink kitten from this misery. |

Because of this cruelty, mothers will never get to see their children grow up. Their lives as a family—already a traumatic and unrelenting experience of fear and filth—are short and end in terror and torment. |
Will you help these animals today? Make a gift of $2 or more and it will be matched to have TRIPLE the impact, up to our $250,000 goal. This is the biggest match of 2026 to save animals from being tortured for their skin! |
From exposing systemic cruelty to turning heads with eye-catching protests, PETA drives widespread change in the clothing industry, persuading generations of consumers to reject clothing and accessories made from animals. Your matched donation will have 3X the impact and help keep the pressure on until this bloody industry folds—so that no more animals need to suffer these fates. Thank you for your kindness and empathy. |
Kind regards, |

We’ve set a deadline of June 30 to raise $250,000 through the “Save Our Skin” Matching-Gift Challenge. Gifts made after that date or after our goal has been met will not be matched, but they’ll still make a tremendous difference in our work to save animals from the global clothing industry and promote vegan fashion. |
