Did you know you can often get a sense of how a sheep is feeling just by watching their ears? When sheep are calm, their ears usually rest loosely to the side or slightly backward. When something catches their attention, one ear may turn forward while the other stays back. In fearful or stressful situations, both ears are often held backward, while alert or frustrated sheep may hold their ears more upright or forward.
