Take Action Now for Sheep

Dear,

IKEA, the world’s largest furniture retailer, claims it’s working to use only “responsibly sourced wool” for its rugs. But this is a marketing ploy to prop up the cruel wool industry.

A new PETA Asia-Pacific video investigation into 23 farms in New Zealand’s wool industry reveals rampant abuse at every stage of farm operations. Investigators witnessed shearers beating, kicking, and throwing sheep; workers cutting holes in lambs’ ears and burning and cutting their tails off with a hot iron; and the bodies of dead sheep scattered around the properties, including one whose remains were tossed from the second floor of a shearing shed.

By selling rugs made with New Zealand wool, IKEA and other furnishing companies are complicit in sheep’s suffering. Don’t let them sweep this cruelty under the rug—urge them to ditch wool now!
