Rats feel pain, fear, and joy, just as we do. Yet, they’re among the most commonly used animals in crude and archaic experiments. In laboratories, rats are treated as nothing more than test subjects—confined to barren cages, subjected to painful procedures, and killed when they’re no longer deemed “useful.” PETA is leading the movement to expose and stop experiments on rats—and all animals—and to accelerate the shift to state-of-the-art, non-animal research.
