Dear, |
A University of Minnesota (UMN) experimenter drilled 20 screws so deep into a rhesus macaque's skull that they pierced the monkey's brain. Then came the cover-up. The monkey suffered for months. It doesn't end there. |

In Zimmerman’s laboratory, a monkey with a surgically implanted headpost sits inside an experimental cage while a holder with reflective markers attached to the implant tracks the animal’s head position. These procedures can cause pain, infection risk, and chronic psychological stress. |
PETA has received whistleblower reports of extreme cruelty inflicted by two experimenters at UMN who shoddily cut into monkeys’ skulls, causing unimaginable suffering that continues today. Please act now to urge the university to ban this pair from experimenting on animals ever again, and join PETA's call for UMN to phase out animal experiments and shift to non-animal research methods. |

Thank you in advance for taking action today and all that you do for animals. ![]() Alka Chandna, Ph.D. |
